宇治市内も朝晩の冷え込みが日に日に増して来た今日この頃。

8月の秋冬物を仕込んでいた当初の予定では
「11月頃に発表しようかな?」
と考えていた深夜珈琲のINSULATION JACKETですが
WEB SHOPをメインに関東、北信越地方のお客様から問合せが多く来たので、
生産チームにお願いし少し前倒して入荷する事にしました。

このアイテムは”中綿ジャケット”なのですがあくまでも街着としての使用を考えて綿のボリュームをあえて抑えて無駄な膨らみが無い適度なふっくらとした着心地で楽しんで頂ける様に仕上げています。

また、中綿の質を上げて保温性も感じて頂けるスグレモノです。
そして、フロントはダブルジッパー仕様で両サイドにジッパー付きのポケットが装備し裾の両サイドはドローコードで搾れるようにしています。

個人的には「一番ちょうど良いジャケット」と言えるアイテムで凄くオススメです。

毎年、様々なブランドから冬物重衣料がリリースされていますが、
完全に極寒地帯向けの仕様で街着としての想定の域を超えた「オーバースペック」の高額アウターが多く衣料品業界に長年携わって来ている仲間内でも「この件」が毎年話題に多く上がっています。

「そのスペックや価格帯は日本の街着として本当に必要か？」と、、、。

最も優れた保温性や機能性は確かにありますが真冬の登山やキャンプを目的とした方々向けならまだしも普段着としてジャケットをお求めのお客様に本来必要とされる以上のスペックを街着に無理やり入れて販売価格帯も本来の3倍近くに、、、、。

しかも、毎年無理やりアップデートし、購入を促すショップも多数あり、、、。

正直言って自分はそう言う行為が好きではありません。

自分が生まれ育った街、京都宇治にて商いを営む自分としてはその信念を曲げたくないので「一番タウンユースに見合うスペック」と考えるジャケットでご提案させて頂きます。

The morning and evening chill here in Uji City has been noticeably increasing day by day.

When we were preparing our Autumn/Winter collection back in August, we originally planned to release the Shinya Coffee (深夜珈琲) INSULATION JACKET around November. However, due to high demand and numerous inquiries on our WEB SHOP—especially from customers in the Kanto and Hokushinetsu regions—we reached out to our production team to accelerate the schedule and release it early.

Although this is a padded insulation jacket, it was designed specifically for daily urban wear. We intentionally tuned down the padding volume to avoid unnecessary bulk, giving it a balanced, softly padded silhouette and effortless comfort.

At the same time, we upgraded the insulation quality so you can enjoy genuine warmth and retention without the weight. Functional features include a 2-way front zipper, zipped side pockets, and adjustable drawcords at both sides of the hem to customize your fit.

Personally, I’d describe this as "the most balanced jacket you can own," and it comes highly recommended.

Every winter, the fashion market is flooded with heavy outerwear built for extreme sub-zero environments—pieces loaded with "over-spec" features that go far beyond what is actually needed for daily life in the city. Within our circle of industry veterans who have spent decades in clothing, this is a topic that comes up every year:

"Are those extreme specifications and inflated price tags really necessary for street wear in Japan?"

While maximum thermal performance and specialized features certainly have their place for winter mountaineering or camping, forcing extreme outdoor specs into casual everyday jackets often pushes retail prices up to nearly triple what they should be. On top of that, many stores push aggressive annual updates just to drive sales.

To be completely honest, that approach just isn't my style.

Running our store here in my hometown of Uji, Kyoto, I refuse to compromise on my core beliefs. That is why we offer outerwear designed with what we consider the "ideal balance for authentic town use."

We brought this jacket to our shop floor yesterday, and thanks to great support from both local customers and visiting travelers, pieces have already been moving quickly from day one!
